Broiled yesterday’s nuggets and they were even better today! Great with a little kale and mushroom salad, and reading one of my books about pioneers.

I like this book a lot because despite being very much a children’s book, it doesn’t shy away from at least some of the havoc pioneers caused on their quest for “Manifest Destiny”, including some of the atrocities committed towards Native American people.

It even has a mention of the cannibalism that took place during the ordeal endured by the Donner party! I was surprised by this and will look for other books in this series.
