I really did not expect Impey’s route to be such a strong contender for my favorite. Honestly, it’s hard to pick a favorite so far –I loved Van Helsing’s, since I’m fond of that character archetype, he’s very easy to look at, and it was my first route. I didn’t like how Saint-Germain’s route began, but, if you’ve played it (I have yet to blog about it) it blows your freaking mind as it progresses.
This post contains spoilers for Code: Realize ~Guardian Of Rebirth~ soโฆ donโt read it if you plan to play it!!

Impey’s route has one big twist, but not a particularly significant one. As mentioned in the previous post about his route, he’s a vampire. This doesn’t add any special significance to his route, but it’s the only big twist it has that I can remember. Because, other that that, what makes Impey stand out as a bachelor is his earnestness and sincerity. He falls in love with you at first sight, and somehow even his attempts to get you in bed seem pure. He doesn’t even care if his penis melts off. He’ll do anything to make you happy unless you physically stop him:

No one takes Impey too seriously (relatable) even though he is clearly sensitive and intelligent if given a chance to show that. While I found his character a huge turnoff at first, he’s clearly by far the best: very confident, is always, ALWAYS happy for you when you go for other bachelors (though sorry that it isn’t him), he’s funny, and he’s a great cook. There’s no angst or ego issues with Impey. He just wants you to be happy, ideally with him.
The contrast with his (very few) non-dorky romantic moments make those moments all the sweeter, too:

The slightly dorkier ones aren’t bad, either:

And let’s not forget the whole “jumping off a ship” with you:

Even his purposefully cringy moments are damn adorable. He’s just so pleased he won you over, he can’t get over it:

I did like that, as the heroine, you turn his advances down constantly, and the way he seems to make a big joke of being in love with you is addressed explicitly right before he proposes to you, very formally too (for him):

Although, rather hilariously, he’s shocked when you accept:

Interestingly, it seems he must have thought this wasn’t formal enough. In the epilogue, he proposes even more seriously:

(I will say at times I wish I just picked the original name, Cardia. I’m used to putting my own name in games, but I find reading some of these lines with my name in a game of this sort to be so embarrassing, lol.)
Anyway it was a lovely route. It’s hard not to love Impey… his route and Van Helsing’s are my favorites, but if I had to pick a man to marry, it would have to be Impey. Van Helsing might be better looking, but he’s also an angsty prick. ๐
Anyway, have some more pretty art from a beautiful game:

Almost forgot, bonus baby Impey:

I’ll be posting about Night Of The Living Yandere Saint-Germain’s route next!
I have to say I completely understand if my posts analyzing fictional characters in romantic visual novels are cringy-ass. A friend of mine used to do this (maybe still does) and I sometimes thought to myself “You realize these are fictional characters right?” Haha… so yeah, I know it’s a lame read, but I write these posts because talking about these characters, whether they belong to a book, game or movie, is entertaining to me. If anyone else finds them even a little bit fun, then great. ๐
