Victor’s Route ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Victor is certainly lovable, and yet, I didn’t like his route most of the time… I’ll leave all my thoughts for after the cut, but please don’t consider my feelings to mean “this was a poor story” or “this is a bad route”. Victor is just not my type of bachelor, and some issues happened to hit hard on pet peeves of mine.

This post contains spoilers for Code: Realize ~Guardian Of Rebirth~ soโ€ฆ donโ€™t read it if you plan to play it!!

Okay so. Victor is very sweet, but I also can’t stand him sometimes. He’s the softie character. Depending on your character archetype preferences, you either want to protecc or you want to yeet.

This was funny, though:

Like the other characters, he’s pretty, though in a more delicate way. The illustrations in his route are beautiful, and he can be gallant.

I know there’s a proper term for these illustrations, but I’m new to visual novels and cannot remember it at this time.

But he’s SUCH a little b***h sometimes, oh my God. I think if you as much as looked at him funny, he would cry. I’m being mean, of course. He’s adorable. But he’s just too much of a softie for me. Perhaps I’m too used to the tenderness in my relationships being balanced out by hefty doses of sarcasm and “playful” physical violence that without it, it just doesn’t do it for me. Lol.

In fact, Victor is such a submissive character, that it’s the heroine taking the lead romantically, including in the important scenes, including the extra scenario! Well… that doesn’t count as romantically, it was just hilarious. But anyway, that alone wouldn’t make me dislike this route. That would just make it kinda bland for me (and it does).

What made me dislike this route are the massive amount of typos, repeated words, grammatical mistakes and in one case a word missing altogether. Every route has some instance of this, but Victor’s is the sloppiest.

What REALLY made me dislike it, is what they did to Queen Victoria. Already, visually, they haven’t been exactly kind to her (in my opinion.) I know this is a very fantastical, alternate version of history, and that’s part of the fun of the stories in this game. I imagine the real Queen Victoria wasn’t a saint. But it’s very different to do that, versus literally make her into the monster she becomes in Victor’s route, regardless of her reasons.

You may be able to argue that she believes in the morality of her own motives, I don’t care. They make her into a genocidal maniac. I just hated it. All they needed to do was create a completely fictional queen, use a different name, and I would have found her character enjoyable.

I will say they do redeem the character somewhat at the end, but, I was still grumpy about it overall.

I’m glad that completing Victor’s route is something I’m doing before Lupin’s, which obviously I’m looking forward to the most. It made it more bearable, knowing it wasn’t the last. Also, considering how much I’m whining about a video game, it sounds like the little b***h here is me. Anyway! Moving on.

This was the cutest scene with Victor in the whole route. He’s the definition of a cinnamon roll.

It made complete sense for the heroine to take the lead with Victor. I did enjoy that very much. She’s a great character to play, in every route.

What’s with everyone in this game trying to serve me high tea before murdering me?

Things like these did work, somewhat, to redeem this Queen Victoria in my eyes, but only partly.

More pretty images. Don’t mind me. I just want to have them on my blog. The art on this route was gorgeous.

Victor’s face makes it clear that taking the lead is a huge, deeply embarrassing effort for him, lol:

Yay!! Now on to what really matters:
