This past weekend we went to visit with my mom in law in Sebastian, but before heading there, we visited Grandma in Port St. Lucie. Her 80th birthday is next week, but we celebrated it during this visit. Just Christopher, his mom, me and Grandma. It was really nice and intimate. Between all of us we brought her two sets of flowers, gift cards, a ton of balloons, and a chocolate ganache cake:
Of course Grandma couldn’t really blow out the candles, but she pretended like the best of them:
For the most part we all had our masks on all the time:
…but not while we ate, though we kept our distance. Still, I wished we had gone to the porch to eat and stay even farther away. I just worry a lot for Grandma’s health. But we needed to give her a bit of normalcy and celebrating, because this was still of of many firsts –her first birthday without Grandpa, and such a momentous one, too.
Later that night at my mom in law’s house we played Ticket To Ride. I really love this game. I had the blue trains, and was going for a very long route. Christopher blocked me off, with his mean little green trains. ๐ But I didn’t give up, did the route all over again underneath, and won the game! Eat my steam, sucker. ๐๐จ
My mom in law’s cat Sissy kept trying to get attention and pets while we played. I took a ton of photos of her, but here’s just a couple:
Ok, I think that’s it for this post, too. Time to go to whatever is next on my drafts. Slowly catching up…
