Boy, this is LATE! Sorry. I’ve been too busy with other things. I have so many otomes to play after I’m done with Giraffe and Annika, and I can’t start until I finish my last two Code: Realize posts. 😓 So it’s time to make myself finish these entries before my memory of my playthroughs just fades. 🍃
I really enjoyed Lupin’s route and the True End that came with it, even though he isn’t my favorite LI. As the heroine’s canon love interest, Lupin is very, very likeable, perhaps too much. When a character is that cocky, that charmingly arrogant, I need the relationship balanced by someone who will really push back, not be easily won over by them, and get on the arrogant character’s nerves, making them lose their cool. The heroine was not that –she was much spunkier (if clingy as heck) with Van. We had that relationship in the game, though, in a way –Lupin loses his s**t whenever Sholmes appears. I totally ship them. 🌈👌 But as this was not the case with the heroine, I found him rather bland.

When thinking of it as its most important aspect (the True End) I really liked Lupin’s route. As I said before though, when thinking of him as a LI, he was just “okay” as far as I’m concerned. He was just right as the canon LI; I don’t think I would have had it another way, but I got way more butterflies on Van Helsing’s route, Saint-Germain’s, and, believe it or not, even Impey’s.
I suppose the scenes with Lupin were the most beautifully drawn, though:

Bonus points for any time there were hints of Van caring for the heroine, even in Lupin’s route, such as when she left without explanation:

Meanwhile, as the plot was all focused on super romantic scenes with Lupin…

In every route, the interactions between Van and Delly are very sweet, but they were particularly good here.

Of everything that was specific to Lupin, this scene gave me the most butterflies:
This part with Finis, though, it absolutely GUTTED me… 😟
It really doesn’t matter how willing you are to love someone in spite of anything, if they’re determined to hate you. I know that from experience and it made this scene kinda hard to play through. 😅
Originally, I had this post set up to share thoughts about all the screencaps below, which were favorite moments, but it’s been too long to remember what I wanted to say about them. 😞 Still, I wanted to post them.
Anyway! It was a good ending, and a pretty satisfying game overall. I can’t wait to play Future Blessings. But I have one more post to make about Guardian of Rebirth, kind of a recap of my feelings overall as well as the bonus scenarios. So, that will be next!
