Two years ago this month, tentatively, and not without trepidation, I “came out” as pan by adding these subtle colors to my icon on my socials. I did not tell anyone directly, at least not right away.
As more time goes by, I feel happier and more comfortable identifying this way, and more people close to me properly understand what it means. While I wish I’d come to terms with it sooner (religious indoctrination was a big factor that held me back, unfortunately) I’m really grateful for the support I received from the community, my friends, family, and above all, my husband. I think I’m very lucky indeed. I know not everyone is as lucky.
It’s probably safe to say that the majority of my watchers identify as LGBTQ+, or at the very minimum half of them. I want to send you my warmest wishes on this very special month. Remember, you are loved, and you matter!
I needed this post, definitely. So, my showing I’m bi will get easier over time? My girlfriend is literally the only one who knows, and I never want to tell my sister because she doesn’t support the LGBTQ+ community fully. I guess I do show I’m bi in the fact that, well, one: I just love blue and purple together. and two: I’ve worn ALL blue and purple in public before! Not sure if anyone knew what I was going for though . . . Oh well. My girlfriend’s mom is also a HUUUGE supporter too. And pride month is in June? So is my birthday! This makes me like the day my birthday is on even more now! Okay, this is long now. Again, I loved this post.
