Cold And Busy Weekend ๐Ÿป๐Ÿœ

This weekend flew by! Mostly it was very busy, and particularly on Sunday night, VERY chilly. ๐Ÿฅถ I opened February warm-ups, worked on a complex commission, and Christopher and I did a lot of work around the house.

๐ŸŒˆ Saturday ๐ŸŒˆ

Saturday morning, work continued on our friend’s future bedroom upstairs. Christopher was eager to move the DDR machine out of what is now his and our friend’s office, so we did that. It’s more work than it sounds, since it’s a full DDR machine as you’d find in an arcade. So it implies disassembling it, taking down a door from its frame to fit the pieces through, moving around a lot of other furniture in the movie room, and then bringing down his disassembled computer desk, his chair, monitors, tower, etc… but we were happy with the results, even if everything is still a mess.

We had our friend’s help for part of it since he came in the afternoon.

After we were finished and work upstairs was also done for the day, we went out to dinner. We went to Pho Bar again and I’m really happy to have found a new dish there that I like. Plus, Christopher let me have a Thai iced tea. I wanted to take pictures for the blog as usual but someone had to sabotage my first attempt ๐Ÿ˜’ (also as usual):

Anyway, I tried again.

Later in the evening the two of them got very into some slightly pedantic tech argument that likely relied heavily on semantics so I just sat there bored taking pictures of them. I don’t think either convinced the other, they just got tired.

๐ŸŒˆ Sunday ๐ŸŒˆ

Sunday morning there was no work being done on the room (it will be completed this week) so Christopher and I went out for breakfast together. I worked around the house for a while afterwards and he napped. Kotoko slept on his butt:

During the evening we sorted bins, got rid of stuff, picked out anime wallscrolls for the walls out of our extensive collection. Tomorrow we will pick new Laserdiscs to frame. I took this photo when he sat down to rest a moment and Kotoko immediately lay on him:

In spite of all the work, it was a pleasant day. We snacked on Tostitos and Doritos and queso, and watched some YouTube, as a break in between.

It was super cold out, so Christopher opened the doors, windows, everything, to let the super cold air in, since it’s so unusual for Florida. That made the evening feel oddly special, too.

Sometimes, little things like that can bring so much comfort in spite of the mess the house is right now all around us. Maybe it’s because we’re feeling so close recently, constantly talking about things we’re so excited for. ๐Ÿ˜Š These are good days, I think.
