An On-And-Off Rainy Week ☔

Happy Friday, everyone! It’s time for a recap. I was sick for a bunch of this cold, rainy week, but in moderately high spirits regardless. So I’ll begin with some musings before the actual recap. You may already have heard me go on about the following a bit on Twitter, but I wanted to expand here.

I drew a LOT this week, felt very creative, getting back in touch with a part of my artist self that I’ve kinda abandoned over the last ten years. I’d say the last couple of years have brought me the most joy art-wise. I feel more fulfilled when I draw than ever before. And yet… I’ve felt these past six months as though clients in the art community I’m in may be kinda moving on from me and some other artists.

I see a lot of established artists like myself struggle to fill slots, including artists that were once in high demand. Maybe it’s the economy, maybe it’s algorithms, all I know is I am not the only one (which is some comfort).

Basically, I’m trying to branch out, at least before I give up on commission art altogether. I’m trying to go back to my cute little characters from 10+ years ago, the non-commission art that predates my days in the fandom, which has more mass appeal.

I’m also going to be doing the odd fan art. I just feel like there is less demand for some parts of my work these days. So, rediscovering myself as an artist this week has been refreshing, even though the uncertainty regarding funds does have me very worried.

🤧 Monday 🤧

Nothing much to say for Monday. Had a quiet but busy day at home. All I have to share from this day is a picture of Rosie.

☔ Tuesday ☔

I’d been getting pretty stir crazy, so, on this day, I got permission from Christopher for a Starbucks treat, and went out. It was rainy. I spent some time at Starbucks, and once I was done with my food, I walked to the bookstore.

At Barnes & Noble I got a plushie and a book. I also read this picture book which promptly made me tear up in the store. I would have bought it, but it was like twenty bucks. I ended up buying it on Amazon as soon as I got home.

Usually I share a little bit of the inside of a book. But I feel like a lot of the punch of this book is lost if you show any pages. It’s a bit like a little comforting, hopeful song, and a book I intend to keep near my desk to read when I need to remind myself that all bad times are temporary. I really, really recommend it, even if you are an adult, it’s a nice thing to have.

The other book I got was Growing Grouchy. A very cute little story of Oscar’s birth and early years. And a little chick that I named Gumdrop.

Here’s a couple of close-ups from that book. I love the cameo of little grumpy Bert:

And a photo of Gumdrop with the hat I picked. I’ll make him a bandana and name necklace soon:

🐤 Wednesday 🐤

Wednesday was another day of arting. In the morning I had a Zoom call with my mom. Then I went on a walk (it was rainy again, but nice and cool out):

…and had an acai bowl for lunch:

Not much else to say about this day. I’ve just been working so much every day this week, I didn’t leave much time for leisure. 😅

🏮 Thursday 🏮

Ok as far as Thursday, first let me get my lunch out of the way. I made my own Mexican-style corn thing and it was very yummy, I had queso for a dip:

The best part of Thursday was date night. I’d long been excited about it because we planned to watch Turning Red. I was very turned off by this movie when I saw the first trailers and images, but as I heard more about it after its release, I got a little more interested.

Well, I’ve got to say, it is my favorite Pixar movie in years! The expressions and body language of the characters absolutely make the movie. As some have stated, it is cringy, but in a delightful, purposeful, “that’s the joke” sort of way: your early teens ARE probably the cringiest part of your life, after all.

It is also a love letter to the late 90s/early 2000s, a pivotal point in my own life. I was a bit of a late bloomer, since I was Mei’s age in 1997, but it was around the time the movie takes place (a few years after that, meaning I was older) was when I was emotionally in the same place Mei is in the film. I still found it deeply relatable, even more so because it was just my mother and me during a large part of my late childhood and all of my teens/early adulthood.

Conflict was inevitable, especially as I got older, but I was much less “my own person” than Mei is (too afraid to do so) and had no friends to fall back on, other than one girl for a couple of years. So, it would take me until I left the house at 30 (!!) to slowly begin to feel like voicing serious disagreement, let alone anger, to my mom was allowed.

These days, it is much less of an issue for me. Like with Mei, having other people giving you perspective really helps you to be your own person, standing on your own two feet –and eventually you don’t need that either.

Anyway, between watching an animated movie (something I haven’t done in forever) and getting a Happy Meal, WITH a toy I actually cared for, this was a very “Little” night! I was over the moon when I saw that Mario Kart was the theme!

To make things even better, I got Bowser, and my burgers where some of the best I had in a while, with very juicy pickles. I even used my Bluey placemat for the first time!

After the movie we just hung out and had quality time together. It was a lovely evening and the highlight of my week all around.

Friday

This was a very busy day. I worked on art all day, and we went shopping to like four different stores for groceries. That was actually very pleasant, and I got treated to my favorite sandwiches from the Argentinean bakery. But it is always so hard to step away from my work.

We had a lovely dinner at home in the evening. Here is a photo of Kotoko and Elliot that I took in the early afternoon to wrap up the post:

Tomorrow we have an outing, and Sunday a dinner with friends, so I’ll do the weekend on a separate post in case I end up with a lot of photos.

New Toys 🌈🦕✨

Here are some of my Christmas things on display now that I opened them! First, my new brachiosaurus. She LORGE

My Little People Office crew went on one of my shelves:

And Daisy and Bowser Jr. went right on top of my monitor (I have a little shelf attached to it:

I’ll have more to share later!

Christmas Eve And Christmas Day 🎄🎁✨

Good morning everyone. It’s Monday once again and life has to go back to normal… I have SO much to do today, but I’m feeling really happy. Before I start my massive pile of chores, I wanted to share the highlights of the holiday with you guys.

🎄 Christmas Eve 🎄

To begin with, here is the outfit I wore for Christmas Eve. I felt pretty cute.

This pic is from the afternoon of Christmas Eve. Elliot was getting some cuddles from Christopher:

My mom and sis in law were already there from Wednesday night. We were waiting for my mom and our friend, to start Christmas Eve dinner. He got there much earlier than my mom so we played Monopoly. My sis in law won.

I lost first (no surprise there) so while they finished the game, I began to grate cheese for our cheese breads, and slightly grated my hand in the process. 😭

My mom finally arrived about 20 minutes before dinner was ready to be eaten. The food was amazing. Our friend and I worked on it together and I actually managed not to screw up anything too horribly. Or at all, actually. We had picaña, rice and beans, Russian salad, and cheese breads.

Kotoko wanted to sit at the table, so Christopher brought a tall chair for her. She stared at everything very intensely until she got a tiny piece of picaña for herself. 😅

I also got this cute picture of both of them together. It’s so sweet, I love it.

After that, we cleaned up and then we opened all our presents. I got a lot of wonderful things; my haul is shared at the end of this post. Our friend made wrapping paper angels on the floor but I didn’t take a picture fast enough so I just got this. The cats had fun with the paper too.

Then we exchanged our cards. Mostly, it was me having cards for people. My mom had mailed me hers earlier in the week, and Christopher did have one for me. But otherwise it was me giving cards to everyone as usual. 😅

There are things which I don’t share very openly on this blog (about my relationships and relationship dynamics, though if you follow my private Twitter you know what I mean). Maybe that will change a little this coming year, I don’t know. I may become more comfortable about it since our entire family is aware and, by and large, are all very lovingly (if teasingly) supportive of our lifestyle. But for now, I still wanted to share the two “cards” I made for the two people most important to me in the whole world, though they are a little edited for privacy:

These are actually 11″ x 14″ poster boards with printed construction paper on top, as well as felt, jewels, foam stickers, you name it. The characters were drawn digitally and carefully cut out. I put a lot of love into these things, and they were so big that I had to buy these large rolls of construction paper to make my own envelopes for them (and I decorated the envelopes too).

Then when the time came I was excruciatingly embarrassed to give them to the recipients, I ended up going into another room to look at Christopher’s card. 🙈

At the very end of the evening we began looking at our future cruise excursions again. Eventually our friend started screwing around with the page’s code… I’ll leave you to guess as to what his edits were.

(He has a bit of a warped sense of humor.)

🎅 Christmas Day 🎅

On Christmas Day, me, Christopher, and my mom and sis in law all went to Grandma’s house in Port St. Lucie to have Christmas lunch… dinner? It was at 3:00pm. And open presents for a second time. We had to wait while food still cooked so my sis in law, Christopher and I sat exactly like this for maybe two hours:

It was very cozy. Generally this part of the holiday is more stressful, for many reasons. It was this time too. But being on the couch with them like this, I was happy anyways.

For my gifts there, I got a few gift cards and this amazing snail plush that I’m naming Romaine:

After that we went to my mom in law’s house in Sebastian, to finally relax. I gave her roommate the presents that we had for her and she gave us two gift cards. There was a bit more present-opening, and once we’d sufficiently woken up from the meal stupor, we got an unnecessary (given our full stomachs) spread of amazing snacks set out, some alcohol, and the brand new retro Game Of Life that Christopher got for Christmas:

The rules were surprisingly detailed and difficult. Christopher was in charge of reading them as we went along.

For reasons that only Christopher and I really understood, me landing on this box was pretty funny so he took a picture:

In the end, my mom in law’s roommate won, but it was a close game. My sis in law HATED this game by the way. Haha. anyway here’s a photo of the resident pom, because I always have to post one:

🎁 My Christmas Haul 🎁

Ok, time to share my Christmas goodies! I’ll start with one of my favorite things. This was the present I got from Buddy, Sarah and Santa. I really wanted both of these and they were so much nicer in real life than I expected:

In particular the Daisy one is super adorable and really big for an Amiibo. I love them so, so much, I can’t wait to display them in my studio.

I’m pretty sure this book was from my sis in law. It starts to blur together who gave me what:

I already have one of these books (of a different sort, but same series) and they are super useful for writing!

From my friend Sammy (whom many of you may know as toddlergirl/babystar) I got this very cute set of Little People toys from my wish list. It’s characters from The Office!

Watching The Office with Christopher is a really sweet and important memory when it comes to our relationship so I’m super happy to have this set.

From my mom in law I got these adorable shoes that she had me pick during Black Friday:

From my mom I got this INCREDIBLE Jurassic World Legacy Brachiosaurus. It’s HUGE! I haven’t been able to put it together yet. I can’t wait!

Also from my mom I got this little gnome to put on the back porch. It matches another gnome she got me a while ago:

These cute little guys were from my mom in law. I love them so much! Can’t wait to put them around my studio as well.

It’s really nice that all of my family (pretty much) is so understanding and accepting of my Littleness that I can get presents like these for Christmas. It makes me very happy. 🥰

My mom got me a DYI mini library building kit:

Apparently, it’s supposed to look like this:

But it’s like, unbelievably small… It takes on average 20-40 hours to put together. I’m not sure I’ll have the patience. 😥 We’ll see. It’s a very cute concept, I just legitimately think it’s probably too hard for me.

I also got a bunch of gift cards. I don’t like to support Chik-Fil-A (that was from Grandma) but, she doesn’t know that and I’m not about to get into it. 😬

There was one other Amazon gift card, which I used to get more hangers for my clothes and this Sesame Street Bert and Ernie Tervis cup:

I gave the $10 gift card to Christopher as well as a small bit of cash and he put the rest of the money so I could have these games:

So now we’ll have even more games to play together when our friend moves in which is great. 😁

I also got a bunch of cute, funny earrings from my mom:

There was also the snail plush you saw earlier, and two t-shirts from my mom in law. I’ll share those when I wear them. One is a Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous shirt and the other one has a really cute little snail.

I’m super happy with all my gifts! I’m sure I’ll share more photos as I open boxes and put things together.

How was your Christmas? I hope you made lots of good memories! I know I did. And I hope to make many more good memories next year.

Party Night! 🎉🎮🌈

Today I had a day/evening all to myself, so I kinda partied a little bit! 😁 To begin with, I got myself all set up in the movie room, with Code: Realize ~Wintertide Miracles~ on the projector:

With all of the Christmas decorations, especially the Christmas village, it really added to the wintertide atmosphere of the game.

I brought Grover and Bowser Jr. to keep me company so I wasn’t as lonely:

And I had a little feast set out all for myself:

Below are some spoilers for Code: Realize ~Wintertide Miracles~ so… don’t read any more if you plan to play it!!

I decided to play Lupin’s First Christmas scenario tonight. While Lupin isn’t my favorite LI, I really enjoyed his scenario. It was very cute, and the CGs were beyond beautiful. Here are some of my favorites.

As I play more and more scenarios, little brother Finis continues to be the absolute highlight. I just love him. I love his interactions with everyone. Moments like these are pure gold:

I decided to tackle Impey’s route next. I’m not sure why I did Lupin before Impey, since Impey is my 3rd favorite LI in Code: Realize, but even that has changed now. I wasn’t as crazy about Saint Germain in this fandisc, and I realized during this scenario that I like Impey even more than I remembered.

Even on my Guardian of Rebirth and Future Blessings playthroughs, I found Impey very, and I mean very reminiscent of someone I love, even more so in Wintertide Miracles, so I’m enjoying playing his scenario a lot. It’s been enough to bump up Impey to my second favorite, or perhaps even tie him with Van Helsing. Sorry, Van. 😒

I have not, on the whole, been a big fan of the “from the LI’s perspective” stuff in Wintertide Miracles. In general I am not a fan of being in the LI’s POV at all. But Impey is the exception: even more than the other LIs, what goes through his heart and mind is so different from what his goofy, never-serious, over-the-top demeanor shows, that the contrast in seeing his thoughts is irresistible, as are moments like these, since he so rarely makes these facial expressions…

For the same reason, I love his seriousness in the scenes where he is discussing engineering stuff with Nemo, and all other nonsense is out of his mind, even the MC temporarily, even though he’s thinking about her the rest of the time. Impey has a passion that none of the other characters has to the same extent, IMO, all making a wonderful contrast with his everyday goofy demeanor. Even more so, the banter between him and Lupin is so… SO familiar to me… 😅 I find it so utterly endearing. It’s almost to a T exactly like that between my husband and our dear friend, uncannily so, even.

I’m still taking my time with Impey’s scenario, and this fandisc in general, but it also happened to contain my favorite Finis moment yet. The MC forces poor tsundere Finis to tell her that he loves her, and incredibly, he does say it (wow!):

…only for the MC to confirm it doesn’t feel quite the same when her little brother says it, as opposed to when Impey does (WOW). I forgot to screencap that, but Finis’ pure rage and embarrassment at his sister’s let-down reaction to him voicing his feelings with so much difficulty is the funniest thing I’ve seen in any Code: Realize game yet, I actually laughed out loud. 🤣

Bonus Finis moment that I loved:

What an adorable, overprotective little shit.

That was all the playing I got done for today. It’s rare that I’m home alone at night, so it’s always kind of exciting, until I have to go to bed. I hate being all alone at night in this big house, it’s a bit scary, I suppose… at least I had both Kotoko and Rosie with me. Rosie cuddled right on the pillow:

Tomorrow I’m going to work some more on commissions. I hope everyone has had a great start to their week!

Pre-Thanksgiving Wrap-Up 🦃

Hi hi, everyone! Before I leave for the Thanksgiving holiday, it’s time to do a big ol’ wrap-up of the last week or so. It’s been busy!

I wanted to share the collector’s edition goodies of my copy of Code: Realize ~Wintertide Miracles~. I didn’t get to look at those until after the Tampa trip, even though that’s when I started playing the game.

The collector’s edition came with several pins and a keychain:

Over the last day or so I already played one of the stories. Of course, I started with Van. As always, it was adorable, especially his interactions with Delly. You can read my impressions on that playthrough in my previous post.

Going back to last week (last Thursday to be precise) here is a cute squirrel I came upon during my morning walk:

After my walk, I had my coffee with Bowser Jr…

It was actually a pretty eventful day, but not much about it to share here. I did take a photo of another snack of that day, though. 😅

That’s all I’ve got for Thursday, I got basically nothing done but went to bed very happy. 🥰

This photo is from Friday. I was running around trying to get chores done, and Rosie decided to unmake my bed. 😒 She was still hiding under there. This has since become a new habit.

Later that day, I continued working on a Christmas wallpaper for Christopher, which you’ve likely already seen me post, along with a matching icon:

After that, I went on yet another walk. I went to Target too, to pick up these two things. A Yoshi plushie and a Mario Kart Daisy figure:

I put Daisy in my studio. I wanted a Yoshi plushie because Yoshi is Christopher’s pick in all the Mario games and it reminds me of him.

On Friday and Saturday I continued and mostly finished decorating the house for Christmas. Grover helped!

Reading Christmas stories with my morning coffee as the house starts to get festive around me is a lovely feeling…

Saturday was wonderful. I finished decorating the tree, though I still had some minor details left to do around the house. Our friend came to spend time with us, we played Mario Kart and Mario Party. He won Mario Party but the three of us won Mario Kart rounds.

I tend to do poorly at many mini-games but I love this one.

We also watched Cowboy Bebop (the new Netflix show). I know it’s not perfect and if I’d just watched the anime I’d probably hate it but, it’s been quite a while so I’m enjoying this new version a lot. I’ll probably revisit the anime afterwards.

It was a nice surprise that my problem with Mario Kart really was the Wii U controller. Playing on the Switch with a full controller, I even managed first place once, a rarity for me! And I came in second or third other times.

We went to Nami Sushi for dinner:

It was one in a string of fun, happy, comforting Saturdays recently, and I made even more memories that I’ll treasure.

On Sunday I completed the decorating for good. The tree looks very festive!

Here is Grandpa’s corner, with the candy I can no longer sneak into his hand when Grandma isn’t looking. But still, I make sure he has it.

This area is on the way to the movie/living room:

Here is the movie room with the Christmas village. I like to find different Christmasy streams to broadcast on the projector:

And here is the Christmas village in all its glory!

I got my Yoshi looking all merry, too:

I also put Christmas lights on my bunk bed. I forgot to turn on the fairy lights on this photo for extra effect, but Grover’s outfit still makes it all look extra Christmasy:

Outside, other than the wreath, I put up a new flag:

On Monday I did all of my packing for Thanksgiving and then Christopher dropped me off at my mom’s. Instead of dinner, we had a little “picada” and margaritas. It was delicious! But the alcohol made me very sleepy and I went to bed early. 😴

The next morning I got to work on two commission slots for Nero and Bluu. Grover kept me company. I really love this toy, I’ve slept holding it tight almost every night since our Tampa trip. 🥺💕

When my mom got home from work we went to the Youth Fair. The weather was amazing! Sunny, but cool. We started by sharing an arepa and walking around. Then we had corn with parmesan, garlic, butter and mayo:

Here are some random pretty photos I took around the fair:

A Christmas tree! The fair normally happens in April. It didn’t happen last year. Christmas stuff isn’t the norm, but it was nice to see.

Have one more photo of it because I couldn’t decide which one to use:

We rode a two story carousel. It was so pretty!

I was able to get photos of me and my mom. We were really happy.

I got a little video while I was riding:

At the end of the night, we had freshly squeezed lemonade and pinchos. The alligator in the photo is one my mom won for me in a crane machine!

Here’s one last photo I took of my mom, her hair was a little messy because it was so windy:

We had a really good time. By the time we went home we really were completely beat.

And that brings us to today –Wednesday! I had a lot of prep to do still once Christopher picked me up and we got home. I took care of the snails, the cats, more packing, and I made two banana walnut loaves for Thanksgiving. Christopher made me mac ‘n cheese and fried eggs for dinner! 😁 Definitely a meal that gives me lots of kiddy feels.

That’s it from me… I will be gone until Saturday. Hope you all have a very, very Happy Thanksgiving!

Back From Tampa! 🥰

Not unlike last Saturday, this weekend was full of memories and things that are better suited to keep in my own heart than to blog about. They’re too special. At the same time, I was so overwhelmed with happiness and having fun, and being “present”, that I took very few pictures. But I’ll share what I have.

There was not a single moment of this entire weekend that was dull or anything less than pure bliss. We left around 7:00pm, stopped by McDonald’s (my food was pretty awful but I was too giddy to care) and once we arrived in Tampa I had another chance at dinner. We went to Bahama Breeze. I had a mojito and fish tacos. I carried Bowser Jr. around for a lot of this trip:

The next morning we could truly appreciate our hotel room’s unbelievable view:

We had tons of fun at Busch Gardens. I didn’t go on any rides and thankfully wasn’t harassed very much to go on any, either. I enjoyed just looking around and being together. Sometime in the afternoon we left the park to go have lunch at a highly recommended hot dog place:

When we went back to the park, they went on a few more coaster rides, and in between I got a Grover plushie as a treat that I’d been promised if I was good. This was a relief as I’d grown quite tired of being good all day and by the time I had Grover, I could start causing problems again. 😝

We had a very pleasant dinner at Outback, and then went to the hotel to rest. We were in bed pretty soon, and slept very heavily. Before we knew it, it was almost 11:00am and we’d only just woken up! Thankfully check out was at noon.

For lunch, we stopped by the same little British place that Christopher and I ate at during our five year wedding anniversary trip. It was as good as last time but it was a bummer that they didn’t have bread pudding this time. I had bangers and mash again, but I didn’t have cider since I’d just woken up.

And then, just like that, we were on our way home. I really, really didn’t want this weekend to end. It was hard to accept that it had to end, but Christopher did say that it doesn’t really end since happy things will keep happening. So I remained pretty cheerful and looked out the window with Grover.

I love Grover. I think he is the gentlest of all the Sesame Street characters. I like a lot of Sesame Street characters, but if I was to have one to hug at night, it had to be Grover. This particular toy is very special to me. I’m going to keep him forever.

Up there he’s showing off a cute snowman sugar cookie that I was surprised with just because. I love the cookie too, I can’t bear to eat it. Its scarf and earmuffs even match Grover’s fur. But I’m sure I will eat it tomorrow, since I took a picture of it to remember it by.

The ride back almost ended too soon. We were pretty cheerful throughout, Christopher was just bouncing in his seat at times playing air guitar and it was a delight to see him so happy.

At some point he took this photo of me in the back seat.

Even as I type this limited entry, I keep remembering little things from this weekend that made me feel so happy and Little –holding hands, having Christopher button up my jacket in the cold, getting Grover, and a bunch of innumerable other things that happened, and feeling overwhelmed with contentment and happiness. How do I go back to normal now? 😅 I don’t feel normal at all.

Well… I’m sure I will think of something… I have art to work on, and perhaps I’ll decorate the house early. My Christmas mood is just too strong. I’m on a very high “high” right now and intend to turn it into productivity all of this week!

Pre-Trip Wrap-Up 👀💦

Hi hi, everyone! This is another wrap-up of the last few days. Life is busy and happy and I don’t have time to blog every day right now. 😅

Last Sunday I went to the Asian market to get some special goodies. One of the things I got were these panda chocolate balls. The decor in each little package made the white balls look like pandas. It was so cute!

The white shell was very hard. You couldn’t bite into it right off the bat. But the inside was soft, delicious chocolate. You could bite into the shell after having it in your mouth for a little while. 🐼

Here’s some kitty photos I took on Monday. Rosie and Kotoko:

Kotoko was dealing with a bit of an UTI earlier this week, and Tomoyo’s asthma has been acting up terribly due to the dryer air that comes with colder weather. I’m trying my best to make them well.

💕 Visiting Mom 💕

Monday night I went to my mom’s for a longer visit. I was very tired on Monday and didn’t do anything really, I crashed on her couch as soon as I arrived. It’s very unusual for me. But the next day I had plenty of energy, got up early and went on my 10 km walk. I walked all the way to the beach!

I came to this beach recently with a good friend, but it was late, on a moonless night. You couldn’t really see the sea and it was a bit spooky. You could hear it though. But this time I was able to get lots of beautiful pictures. It was so pleasant.

I even got some video:

On the way there, I met a neighborhood kitty with a sad-looking face:

And on the way back I came across a man walking his dog and his cat at the same time. I didn’t get a picture of that, but it was interesting to see. Only the dog had a leash.

When I got back, I had a little snack and completed another event in Legend Of Mana:

Sweeney was so happy to see me. Tuesday is a workday for my mom, and I left the house before her, so he wasn’t expecting anyone to be back before the evening. He was over the moon!

Shampoo, too, was a little ball of affection. I took a nap, and she stayed with me the whole time.

I spent all of Tuesday working on family gift art for Christmas, watching YouTube, and playing Legend of Mana alternatively. I brought my own lunch since my mom wasn’t expecting me here two days as it was a bit of a last minute decision:

I did some events in LoM that I hadn’t done in my original play through, so that was kinda fun!

Here’s a few screenshots. The art of this game is such a treat. Sometimes I have to stop playing and just stare at the backgrounds. They are gorgeous.

I’ve passed the halfway mark with the events now. I’m enjoying this trip down memory lane very much, but I do also just want to finish, because I have so many other games to play.

For dinner on Tuesday night, my mom made chorizo. It was really good!

Wednesday morning I went on the same walk. I don’t usually do 10 km walks unless I know I won’t be able to do my evening walk. That was the reason yesterday too. I walked to the beach and back again.

After I got back, my mom and I had mate:

I think I may bring Bowser Jr. on the trip. I was going to bring one of my teddies but Bowser Jr. stands up so nicely for photos…I’m not sure.

The entire day was spent much in the same way as Tuesday, except it was my mom’s day off so she was also here. I worked on the very last piece of Christmas gift art and played Legend Of Mana until my Switch battery died.

In the afternoon, we had this for a snack (more like an early dinner for me):

It’s called a “coxinha”. It was really good. It was filled with something like cream cheese and shredded chicken.

Today was Día Del Dibujante in Argentina. My mom always has a little surprise for me on this day (it basically means, a day to celebrate people who draw). This was the present she got me:

It’s a pair of earrings shaped like pencil shavings! I love them so much!

Christopher picked me up in the evening. I missed him so much, I was so happy to see him again. Once home, I got to see some things that came in the mail, namely, this new Daisy shirt:

…and a game that Christopher got for us since it was finally on sale, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe:

And that brings us to now —Wednesday night. Tomorrow is going to be a very busy day for me; I have to do all of my pre-trip prep! I’ll be gone from Friday until Sunday and won’t be answering any DMs of any kind.

I’m besides myself with excitement for so many reasons. 🙈 I just want time to go faster! 😩 That was actually part of the reason I stayed longer at my mom’s. I really need distractions and to make time fly. But I think it almost just made time feel slower because I missed Christopher a lot.
