Today I went to look at toys! I bought a couple of tiny small things, and groceries, and one big thing, but mostly I looked at things and took pictures which is always fun. I also enjoyed a really nice bike ride on the way there! Thankfully the rain that began in the morning stopped by the afternoon.
Here’s a Mei plushie from Turning Red!! It was so cute!
Look at this cute Stitch eating a watermelon slice. ๐ I wanted to buy him for Christopher!
Even though this is โfakeโ Little People I really love this set and may get it eventually to use with my official LPโs. Itโs awesome!
This Walmart exclusive LEGO promo really caught my eye!! ๐
This baby kitten doll was very cute too. And big!
Buggy Care Bears!Derpy pupper!Pyroraptor costume!Trick-or-treating Grogu…Little People animals!!
This was really cute:
Iโm getting mixed messages from this bagโฆ
After Walmart I went to sam’s Club to pick up the Little People camping set I wanted. I bought it without consideration for the package’s size, shape, nor my transportation method of choice for the day, and once I went back to my bike, a thought fleetingly crossed my mind: perhaps I did not think this thoroughly. ๐ค๐ค๐ค
So began the most awkward bike ride home ever. A woman gave me an extremely amused smile as I awkwardly rode by her on the sidewalk. I was so glad people around didn’t know I bought this for myself.
Then again I was wearing my dinosaur shirt by Wen, my bike has pink decor in the tires and a huge sunflower in a pink basket plus a large perler bead heart, a squirrel bell AND a squirrel horn. And furry stickers. ๐ And with the kicker of having this backpack on me at the time, I probably wasn’t fooling anyone.
Me: ducks to avoid low branches My giant toy box: smash smash smash smash
Anyway I made it home with my treasures and my groceries. It was a fun outing.
When I returned from our cruise last week, my Jurassic World Dominion Ultimate Supreme Pyroraptor was waiting for me! Itโs so big! This was one of the two “highest on my list” Dominion items. I’m so glad that I was able to get him!
I havenโt tested it with batteries yet (too busy with work) but wanted to share pics for now. Iโll share video once I play with him! For now, have one photo out of the box:
His facial expression is super neat, too:
Along with the Pyroraptor, the Imaginext baby dinos also arrived during my absence!
They are now hiding in all sorts of places in my studio. ๐ I love them!
Yesterday was date night! When Christopher got home, first he and I spent some time playing board games together while our partner was still busy working. We played Battleship first and Christopher won –twice!
Then we played Quoridor which was a birthday present he got from my sis-in-law. It’s a very simple game. But fun!
Cilantro threatening Christopher’s meeple ๐
This time, I won! ๐ฅณ
After board games we went to Sakura Ramen for dinner, where we had our usual pork bao bun appetizer, and of course, ramen!
Then it was back home to watch Everything Everywhere All At Once together. We went to bed late, but happy.
I’m running out of clever titles for my Jurassic-haul related posts… Anyway… my Jurassic Park Switch case by Numskull Designs arrived! This is one of my favorite items in my entire JP/JW collection. I collect Switch cases, but donโt have many because Iโm picky with them. I have a Pokรฉmon one, an Animal Crossing one, a Super Mario one, and now this one!
My only gripe is that it doesnโt have a stand like my others to hold the Switch while I play with a controller, something I do a lot in the backseat during road trips. But quality wise itโs amazing. No cost spared in materials and construction.
Hereโs a little video so you can see the wonderful texture of the case. Itโs truly my most beautiful case by a long shot, a true collectorโs item.
I was surprised yesterday to find another Good2Grow #JurassicWorld topper! Now I have five different ones in my collection, not counting any of the Podz.
โจ๐ Atrociraptor ๐โจ
Itโs here!! Such a cutie!
Lookit those liโl chompers ๐
He doesnโt come with batteries so I havenโt tested him yet, but I do look forward to it.
The next Jurassic item I will share is bound to be one of the Build-a-Bear plushies. I have a $10 certificate to use, but haven’t decided if I want Rexy or Beta yet. I’ll probably go tomorrow, though.
After that, expect the next batch in July. It’s my birthday and I’ve naturally asked everyone for more Jurassic junk. ๐ It is “Jurassic Summer” after all!
With all the excitement, I forgot to open my giant Jurassic World Dominion Captivz egg! I meant to do it the night the movie opened (which is when we went to see it). I finally did it a couple of days ago, and took photos and video to share.
Here is a video of the really neat holographic eye which opens and closes:
The egg had a plasticky playmat and stickers. I don’t care for the game at all so the playmat was discarded ๐คทโโ๏ธ The stickers are nice. There was supposed to be a dice for the game but it was missing in my egg.
Rexy on wheels!! This thing is hilarious.
Little Jurassic logo box with a dino inside. Very cool looking, I kept it for my shelf display!
And here are the little dinos. Lovely paint jobs and level of detail for such small figures!
Much as I love them this is probably all the ones I will buy. But I am glad to have them!
Hereโs one more Jurassic World magazine I found while grocery shopping! Now that Iโve watched Dominion, I can enjoy truly delving into the magazines Iโve gathered. They are full of interesting tidbits!
I also found this Jurassic World Create-A-Scene book while out with my mom in law. Itโs scrapbooking gold! โจ
It has more cartoony stickers which I prefer, and scenes to place them in. But of course I will use the scenes for scrapbooking.
Today we went out for Pho and then we all did some shopping together. Look what I found! A Jurassic Park patch for my overalls! ๐ฆ
Hereโs a close-up, since Rosie was the highlight of the prior picture, reallyโฆ
I canโt wait to play this with Christopher. Very nice addition to our โcouplesโ board game collection:
Finally, here’s what came in my three little Captivz slime eggs. I still have the big one to open. I’ve had these for a while, but been too busy to sit down and enjoy opening the eggs until this weekend.
The figures are of really excellent quality. Wonderful paint jobs!
Tonight we went to Cinรฉbistro on a very special date night! ๐ฅฐ Finally it was time to see Jurassic World: Dominion. After literally not shutting up about it for months on end, the big night finally came! I got treated to a really wonderful meal, the seating was super comfortable, the screen was huge… and the movie was all I had hoped for and more!
I brought my T. rex, Frijol, with me, and had my usual Jurassic getup (shirt and backpack, and a triceratops baby necklace):
He was excited, too! ๐ฆ๐
I will say that as far as this film was concerned, my expectations were modest, and my desires simple: I wanted awesome dinosaurs to fill the screen and alternatively rampage things, be awe-inspiring, be cute, be conniving, and/or be loud, or a combination of all of these things.
I wanted to see the old beloved cast (hello Jeff Goldblum, boy did you age well ๐คค๐) interact with the new cast, which really grew on me over the years. I wanted to see Blue’s baby, Beta, be adorable. I wanted to stifle a scream each time I recognized a favorite dino. I wanted a movie I’ll want to rewatch. Suffice to say, I got all of that!
The following picture was, of course, taken before the movie started and before we got our food –this was the pre-show and I put my phone away when the trailers started.
NOTE: After the photo, there will be a cut (unless you’re reading this in email form, I think). After the cut will be my thoughts on the movie, which WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS. You have been warned!
When the Collect Jurassic Twitter account posted that photo of the Dominion rug, I rushed to Target’s site, but couldn’t find it. Instead, I found this!
Much better if you ask me! My big alphabet rug had suffered a lot over the years and desperately needed replacing. ๐
